Traveling in the Age of COVID-19

2020 has changed how we all live our daily lives, whether it be work or school, shopping or even communicating. Many people had to adapt to go with the flow of the current normal. Travel is no exception to this. Millions of people had to cancel or change their travel plans for many reasons this year including, borders being closed, companies not funding unnecessary business travel, as well as fear.

With many policies changing frequently, no one is more indispensable than a travel agent. Not only does a travel agent have access to rates and promotions that a normal person would not have access to, they are in the in loop of what is required when travelling. Many destinations are requiring PCR tests prior to departure, in which many people have been denied boarding for not having. A travel agent will ensure that you have all of your i’s dotted and t’s crossed to ensure a smooth and safe trip.

Travel insurance is also another important thing to purchase for your travels. As we’ve seen in 2020, anything can happen. It is smart to protect your investment (travel costs money) in case something happens. In some cases, some companies offer Cancel for Anything policies when you can cancel for just that…whether you are having a bad hair day or if the country’s border is closed, you can get your money back.

Many people are starting to get tried of being cooped up in quarantine and looking for a change of scenery. When you do look for that change of scenery, be sure to reach out to your travel advisor to ensure you have the best experience ever.
